MTP Training Collar
The MTP Training Collar is the opposite to a check (also known as a choker) chain. Where a check chain applies a punishment to your dog to get compliance, the MTP Training Collar, when used correctly, rewards the dog for desirable behaviour. When training a dog to walk on a loose lead, the collar rewards the dog for walking in the “sweet-spot” by opening up to be looser than a normal flat collar thereby rewarding the dogs choice of behaviour with a large sense of freedom.

This is different to a limited-check or other martingale collar designs incorporating chain in the “release mechanism.” Those designs using chain are still punitive. One is still expected to “check” the dog, thereby making the chain “sing.” It is possible to adjust collars of those designs so as it can reward the dog however they don’t release as instantaneously as our design using high performance webbing. Our webbing moves extremely freely giving more feedback to the dog. Chain still ‘ratchets,’ changing position in increments based on the link size. Choose the design that gives more information to the dog, in a way that encourages them to learn.
